"Autosync with External System" not in MS Project fields

We have installed Project Server 2007 and TFS2008 and are trying to get the connector to sync between our projects and TFS workitems. However, when we create a new MS Project, we don't have any of the custom fields that the connector requires (specifically "AutoSync with External System", "Enterprise WorkItem type" etc.). If we then create the project (without the custom fields) we can create a Project Association but the "Details" page is empty (no associations between Tasks and WorkItems).

Have we done something wrong with the installation? Why can't we see the "AutoSync" field?

Thanks in advance,

The problem was in the install - there was a timeout when the installer tried to create the custom fields - even though the installer "succeeded" (we only found the problem after checking the event logs). Fortunately our install was done on a Virtual Server (with Undo discs) so we were able to roll-back and reinstall.

Lenny - could you fix the installer to make sure that it fails when there are exceptions?
